Understand the deliverables before choosing how to work together

The following deliverables can be agreed. The project brief defines their depth, quantity and verification responsibilities.

Deliverable / 01

Packaging structure and packing plan

Design the outer carton, insert, cushioning and accessory compartments; specify materials, packing sequence and checking rules.

How this deliverable is checked

The structure accommodates product dimensions, weight and vulnerable areas; accessories can be checked against a list.

Deliverable / 02

Packaging graphics

Design layouts for the front, back and sides of the carton, including product imagery, typography, colours, claims and information hierarchy.

How this deliverable is checked

Graphics are consistent across panels, depict the same product and are finalised after the client approves the wording.

Deliverable / 03

Instructions, labels and print files

Coordinate the graphic design of instructions, product labels and shipping labels; organise editable source files, print PDFs, dielines, bleed and colour specifications.

How this deliverable is checked

Files, dimensions, model numbers and language versions align, with clear prepress and sample approval checkpoints.

Deliverable / 04

Sample checks and transport verification plan

Check assembly, colour samples, text and packing fit against physical samples, and define verification for the agreed transport conditions.

How this deliverable is checked

Sample revisions, colour samples and approvals are traceable; agree tests, responsibilities and acceptance criteria in advance.

Start with your current challenge

This is a useful starting point when

Situation 01 Transport protection needs improvement while the packaging also needs a clear brand identity
Situation 02 The product is defined, but carton graphics, instructions and labels present inconsistent visuals and information
Situation 03 Complete-product or SKD supply requires a handover covering packaging, packing sequence and production files
Service scope and effort

Agree the scope and quotation at the depth you need

What you can engage us to do

For one base model, combine packaging structure and associated graphics: carton, instructions, labels and print files. Carton type, design directions, page count, languages and revision rounds are defined in the brief.

Information needed before we begin

Product dimensions, weight, physical sample or model, accessory list, shipping method, existing logo and brand assets, product information and required languages.

Packaging graphics are included in this service. Effort is agreed according to the base model, packaging layers, carton concepts, instruction pages, label types, languages and revision rounds.

The agreed scope, fees and delivery conditions are confirmed through discussion and in writing.

Process and responsibilities

Every step establishes the basis for the next

01Confirm product, brand and transport conditions
02Design packaging structure and graphics
03Develop carton, instructions and labels
04Check print readiness and samples, then hand over files
Engagement boundaries

Packaging structure and associated graphics are commissioned together. Sample making, transport tests and volume printing are listed separately. The client provides and approves brand assets, product information and label text. A complete visual identity system, separate advertising campaign or ecommerce product page is scoped separately.

Other questions you may have

Does packaging design include graphics?

Yes. Carton visuals, graphics and information layout, plus the agreed instructions and labels, are included and delivered. The formal quotation specifies carton type, design directions, pages, languages, file formats and revision rounds.

How is this service accepted?

Packaging fits the product and accessories; carton, instruction and label information aligns; source files, print PDFs and dielines match by revision, and sample checks and outstanding tests are recorded.

What happens if the scope changes or information is incomplete?

We first assess how gaps or changes affect deliverables, timing and fees. They are included only after both parties agree; items outside the original scope are recorded separately.

How should information be shared and kept confidential?

Start with a summary of the product type, objectives and issues. Share detailed information after its intended use, confidentiality requirements, access scope and delivery permissions have been agreed.
