Lighting product teardown and benchmarking
Review the service and its applications. Scope, deliverables and fees are agreed following discussion.
Discuss the service →Look inside the product to inform your next decision
A documented teardown and comparison of key details can clarify design choices and identify questions that need further testing.
When this service helps
Use it to review your own luminaire, compare competing products or supplier proposals, or examine samples before defining a new product. Tell us the decision you need to make; the assessment method can follow.
How the work is scoped
We agree on the samples, permission to disassemble them, comparison products and assessment criteria first. The review can record components, connections, assembly and observable optical or thermal design. Performance and safety claims require suitable tests.
What to share
Send a sample or authorised product images, model and known specifications, intended application, current issues and any comparison target. If information is incomplete, start with your objective.
Outputs and engagement
Possible outputs include teardown photographs, construction notes, a comparison matrix and improvement recommendations. We agree on deliverables, sample handling, timing and fees before work starts. We distinguish observations from conclusions that require testing.
